From a very early age I have always been interested in music. I enjoy many forms of music including classical symphonic, opera, jazz, r&b, rock, blues, bluegrass, traditional ethnic such as Celtic and folk and even some limited forms of classic country and progressive country.
Instruments
I play various instruments to various degrees. I started out at age 9 playing the trombone in the school band. At around 10 I added the drums in the school band. In high school I started playing guitar. Later I took cello lessons for awhile. Eventually, I added all sorts of other stringed contraptions such as mandolin, Irish bouzouki, Greek bouzouki, octave mandolin, mandola, cuatro, bass guitar: four and five string and fretless, seven string guitar, requinto, bajo sexto, and to a very limited degree various forms of banjos: tenor, five string and six string.
Lessons
My primary instrument is the guitar. I play various styles but am concentrating more and more it seems on swing and jazz. I teach guitar lessons, if you are interested. I also have a collection of beginner guitars of various sizes that I can loan out as part of the lessons so beginners don't have to purchase an instrument to try it out.
Seattle Opera and Symphony
I am a perennial season ticket holder for the Seattle Opera. I also am a season ticket subscriber to the symphony.
