Creating a new project for an existing web using Visual InterDev 6

• Open Visual InterDev 6
• Open a new Visual InterDev Web Project with the name and location desired. The location indicates a folder in you directory space, NOT a folder on the web server. 
  • If you are working on Toons, I recommend that you create this folder as a subfolder of your already existing html folder. That way you will be able to browse the local copy of your web as well as the copy on Morgana.
• Now provide information requested by Web Project Wizard
  • Select a server such as morgana.toons.cs.wwu.edu
  • Select master mode
  • Select connect to an existing web server and then select a web from the drop down list of webs
  • Provide user name and password if requested, for instance,
    • user name: COMPSCI\osbornm
    • password: wherearemyshoes

    If you are already logged into the COMPSCI domain, you might not be asked for user name and password. In the above, COMPSCI indicates the name of the domain in which the user osbornm exists. The domain name should only be necessary if you are connecting from home.  

  • If you are asked if you want to create a script library, reply yes.
