Changing authoring permissions on a web

For someone to work on a FrontPage or Visual InterDev web, he/she needs authoring permissions. In particular all team members need full authoring capabilities on their team web. To give a person full authoring capabilities follow these steps:

• With FrontPage
  • Open the web
  • Select menu option Tools/Permissions
  • Choose the "Setting" tab and select option "Use unique permissions for this web" and click the "Apply" button
  • Choose the "Users" tab. Add the desired names from the list and select radio button "Administer, author, browse this web"
• With Visual InterDev
  • Open the web
  • Select menu option Project/Web Project/Web Permissions
  • From this point proceed as with FrontPage above

The permissions being discussed above have NOTHING to do with browser access permissions, such as whether a user can view a web page or the script on an ASP page is able to modify the contents of a database.
